Club Members double up TWELVE members of Prestatyn Running Club deserve special praise after “doubling up” at the weekend, turning out in the Borders Road Running League less than 24 hours after competing in the third fixture of the Grand Prix Express North Wales Cross-Country League at Northop. The men finished fourth in Division 2 on the day, the Masters were fifth and the ladies a highly creditable third. Having run for her first-claim club Denbigh the previous day Emma Collins made her Borders League debut in the red vest at Birkenhead Park and she had another storming run, leading the ladies home in 103rd place overall. It was also brilliant to see Jayne Penrhyn-Jones back in action after about two years out with injuries, though her final position was not known at the time of going to press.
Russ Cheetham continued his impressive improvement, and loyal second-claimer David Alan Jones become a member of the elite band to have completed 100 Borders League fixtures.
