After the mudfest of Bala the previous week conditions were almost as testing for the Welsh inter-regional; cross-country championships in Dolerw Park, Newtown, on Saturday.
Prestatyn Running Club had three representatives in North Wales squad, and two of them came away with team awards.
Sue Hughes finished seventh overall in L65 class and the team claimed silver. Her time for the 6.3k course was 33.43.
In the L45 category Ally Reid was placed 27th, helping the team to earn bronze medals, and she clocked 30.33.
The third PRC member was Danny Williams, who finished 35th in a high-quality M35 t9.5k race with a time of 37.02.
With no other events in the area 28 members turned to Parkruns for competition, six of them joining the 500-strong field in the inaugural run at Llandrillo-yn-Rhos. The promenade course is totally flat but several patches of sand provided a little variety.
The club placings were: 22 Matty Smith 19.58, 120 Steve Weedman 24.16, 273 Cara Jones 29.23, 361 Debbie Weedman 32.43, 460 Julie Evans 42.33, 461 Clare Manley 42.45.

Sheringham (Norfolk): 29 Reg Jonas 25.31.

Trentham Gardens: 1-1 Jenna Bagnall 24.55.
It's hoped that the weather is favourable next Sunday (8th) when Cybi Runners host the second fixture in the Borders League on the Mon Racing Track. The last two races there have had to be called off because of the gale-force winds.
