They ended the cross-country season on a high note in Oswestry by finishing top of Division 2 and as they go into the fourth race of the Borders Road-Running League they are in an even stronger position. They hold a 97-point lead over second-placed Ellesmere Port but cannot afford to be complacent, especially as third-placed Wirr

Two Parkrun milestones, one podium place and a great turnout of volunteers were among the varied successes of Prestatyn Running Club at the weekend. The busy programme got underway on Friday evening with the third of the Dash in the Dark series in Llandegla Forest, and the club’s seven ladies outnumbered the men. Steve Skates grabbed the limelight with an outstanding run, coming second overall, while Oliver Birch-Jones also had a fine outing. The placings were: 2 Steve Skates

Gareth's Press Report - 18th January 2026
It’s always a shame when athletes have to choose between popular races, but Prestatyn Running Club’s Dafydd Montgomery overcame the problem at the weekend by doing three races in 24 hours. On Saturday morning he took things slightly easier than usual in the Nova Parkrun, still managing a respectable 20.57, then four hours later he was on the start line in Llandudno for the annual Twin Piers 10k, which incorporated the North Wales championships. The following morning he was th

PRESS REPORT 12th JANUARY 2026
Three individual golds, one individual bronze and one team silver was Prestatyn Running Club’s haul of medals from the North Wales cross-country championships at Bangor on Saturday. Considering the weather over the previous week the conditions were better than expected, but, as usual, the mud made the course challenging enough. In the senior men’s event there was a race-within-a-race as Danny Williams, Jonah Armstrong and captain Gareth Jones battled it out, eventually finish

The days of putting one’s feet up and gorging oneself over the Christmas break are a thing of the past for most members of Prestatyn Running Club and some even took the opportunity to get a couple of extra races under their belt. Not only were their strong turnouts in those Parkruns which survived the icy conditions but a record 15 club members turned out in the Round the Walls race in Chester on Boxing Day. Saturday's Nova Parkrun resulted in an unprecedented outcome for Prestatyn Running Club, with members claiming the first four places and seven of the first 10. The perfect conditions helped three members to claim personal bests for the course, the most amazing being that of Tom Coen, who, in finishing fourth, took over two minutes off his previous best. The other two pbs were by Matty Smith and Paul Robson, both still in the process of making comebacks. The placings were: 1

Press Report 24th November 2025
A strong all-round team performance on Saturday saw Prestatyn Running Club's ladies keep alive their chance of promotion to Division 1 of the David Alun Williams North Wales Cross-Country League. The third fixture in Bala was hosted by Meirionnydd Running Club, and though the course was generally flat and surprisingly firm it contained one stretch of deep, sloppy mud. The 10-strong ladies' team finished 2nd on the day and hold that same position on aggregate with two races le
