Gareth's Press Report - 14th June 2026

After a hectic couple of weeks most members of Prestatyn Running Club have had some downtime over the past 10 days, one of the reasons being the decision to cancel the Nova Parkrun due to a high wind and high tide.

Three members travelled to Cheshire on Sunday for the Colshaw Hall 10k, known for its fast and scenic route.

Ryan Bateman led the trio home, finishing 137th overall in a good quality field, with a time of 36.14.

Zack Webster, one of the club’s most prolific racers these days, was 390th in 43.59 and supervet Roger Harrison-Jones was 915th in 74.53, taking third place in the M80 class.

Ben Thomas and his partner Nicki Triggs headed in opposite directions for two very different triathlons.

Ben competed in the tough Slateman Tri in Llanberis, finishing in 3-50.24, while Nicki competed in the Shropshire Olympic Tri in Ellesmere, clocking 3-05.04.

Last week a rejuvenated Karl Martin was the club’s sole representative in the Mynydd Graig Goch fell-race in Nebo, the latest in the Tuesday Evening series. He was placed 121st with a time of 65.23.

With the Nova event called off far fewer members then usual were in Parkrun action, but the club was represented at seven different venues.
