Gareth's Press Report - 25th October 2026
Storms Austen and Boelo were the winners at the weekend, with the cancellation of the Snowdonia Marathon leaving four members of Prestatyn Running Club among the disappointed athletes.
There was some consolation for Jamie Betts, however, as he put his training to good use in winning the Nova Parkrun.
It was a good weekend, too, for Ben Lewis, who was first home in the Greenfield Valley Parkrun and the following day he finished 11th out of 945 competitors in the Crew 10k, clocking 37.06. In the same event his mother Kelly was 475th in 58.34.
Zack Webster faced a different kind of weather problem on Sunday as he continued his busy programme of long races. In the Valencia half-marathon the heat was the issue, so he began at a steady pace and was happywith his time of 1-40.57.

The campaign by Welsh Athletics is aimed at making women feel more comfortable and less intimidated when running on dark nights
This weekend once again sees a test of the club’s resources. On Saturday the second fixture of the David Alun Williams North Wales Cross-Country League is being held in Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay, and it is followedon Sunday by the second Border Road-Running League race in Birkenhead Park.
Both the men and women got off to a steady start last month but need a strong turnout in the remaining fixtures to make up ground.
